Hi everyone.
On 16 March we had our monthly Workshop/Demonstration, which was Lustres extending Design with Penwork, Textures and Metallics. I was fascilitating the day which was well attended with everyone busily designing their pieces and stating to “Play” with their lustres. It is a subject that is difficult as you cannot see the effects of the Lustre until the porcelain is fired. I brought many finished pieces to show what you can do and how to start designing. And spoke about the process you need to do – from sponging the lustre, brushing lustre, dipping lustre. Then once fired how to include and extend the design. I am attaching a few closeup examples where you can see a few ideas. I am looking forward to seeing members finished pieces at our April meeting. I didn’t get a chance to take group photos as I was pretty busy teaching and helping. Looking forward to seeing some finished pieces next month.
